Activating the Spine & Nervous System Opening 100 Meridians

The Tian Gan or “Heavenly Stem” is essentially the central internal longitudinal axis or “stem” that passes through the body. The Heavenly Stem encompasses the body’s central core energy circuit known as the Microcosmic Orbit which activates the spinal cord, brain and nervous system and “opens the “100 meridians,” regulating every energy pathway in the body.

The rhythmic movements of Tian Gan Nei Gong literally “wring out” the spine, freeing up restrictions and blockages in the Tian Gan, while energetically activating the brain and nervous system so that they function at a higher level. This transforms the body on every level, producing coordinated graceful, movement, increased life force and a bright and radiant spirit.

Free circulation of Qi in the Heavenly Stem allows energy and force to move outward from the core of the body into the arms and hands without tension and obstruction. This increases movement potential, teaching you to obtain maximum results with minimum effort.

The Tian Gan or “Heavenly Stem” is like the trunk of a tree. It is the body's central energetic connection between Heaven & Earth

The Tian Gan Nei Gong exercises are traditionally used by Ba Gua and Xing Yi practitioners to develop torsional power and sophisticated martial techniques that are connected directly to the spine and legs, forming the basis of the so-called “silk reeling energy.” Tian Gan is one of the most important Ba Gua training methods.

Yet Tian Gan Nei Gong is more than a sophisticated martial training method. These powerful Ba Gua Energy Exercises supercharge the body by activating and potentiating the spiral forces within the body’s internal Qi Dynamic. Engaging with these internal spirals produces movement patterns that are imbued with power, energy and grace.

Slow Down the Aging Process
& Improve Brain Function

In China, some teachers say that one’s age can be determined by the health of the spine. If the spine is mobile, supple and vibrant, one is relatively young; if the spine is stiff, rigid, and inflexible, one is relatively old. Tian Gan Nei Gong exercises slow down the aging process by promoting spinal health and flexibility.

Tian Gan Nei Gong is also  important adjunctive practice method for various types of Daoist Meditation and Self-Cultivation practices, because an important step in Daoist longevity and immortality practices is to energetically activate the spinal cord and brain in order to attain higher levels of consciousness.

What is Tian Gan Nei Gong & why should I learn it?

Tian Gan Nei Gong is a profound set of internal exercises that that has its roots in Ba Gua Zhang. Although Tian Gan Nei Gong may have originally been constructed to be developmental exercises for martial arts, it has many applications to health preservation, martial arts, Daoist meditation, physical therapy, and sports. The Tian Gan exercises are important health and longevity exercises that have profound effects on the body and the neuro-muscular system.

The Tian Gan is the central core of the body that encompasses the spine, its surrounding structures and the brain. When practicing Tian Gan Nei Gong, the spiraling and turning actions of the body, combined with the movements of the arms and legs, stimulate the deep internal  meridians while simultaneously “wringing out” the spine and its surrounding structures. This frees and opens the “Extraordinary Meridians” that supply the spinal core and brain with nourishment.

Tian Gan Nei Gong also forges deep connections between the spine, the waist and the four limbs in order to create a unified whole-body movement dynamic that applies equally to our everyday  actions, marital arts and sports. These exercises are critical for martial artists, because to some degree Tian Gan Nei Gong expresses all of the major movements used in martial techniques and power generation.

After practicing Tian Gan Nei Gong you will move with power and grace and the body will feel supple and energized.

While there are some advantages to learning in a classroom setting, there are also disadvantages. For example, once the class is over, you don’t have the teacher there to help you in your daily practice. Our experience is that in a classroom setting, students often have difficulty remembering corrections they receive. In an online program you can go over the detailed instruction and corrections again and again via the pdf and videos. A common complaint from students in a classroom setting is that the class moves too slowly or too quickly, or not enough time is spent on certain exercises which are particularly difficult. So another advantage of our online learning program is you can learn at your own speed.

Starting January 1, 2015, the European Union (EU) made a major change to its VAT regulations, that now requires businesses to pay VAT according to the locations of consumers. This law was meant mainly for large companies that have been avoiding higher taxes by establishing presences in places with lower VAT. Unfortunately, the regulation change also put a burden on independent creators who sell digital products to customers in Europe.

We’re unhappy with this new law as it puts a large burden on us, and you, the customer, end up paying more. However, we are forced to comply with the new law. We use Gumroad as the payment portal because they are reliable and trusted, and in addition they now collect the VAT automatically. We do not personally collect or receive the VAT. The VAT is collected by Gumroad and distributed to the proper authorities in each country by Gumroad.

If you are also unhappy with the new VAT law, we suggest you contact the appropriate local representative in your country.

The videos will be accessible indefinitely. We are committed to maintaining your ability to gain access to them.

It is not possible to answer everyone’s questions about training and many questions are impossible to answer through words alone. We encourage you to practice the material as many questions can only be answered through practice. We do offer workshops periodically in New York City and Europe, so if you feel the need to fine-tune your practice, it might be useful to attend a workshop in person.
