Dan Buettner and his team of researchers traveled the world and identified and studied what they call “Blue Zones.” These are communities where elders live to record setting ages while retaining their vitality and vigor. At the TEDtalks – he gave a lecture entitled How to be a 100 Plusa in which details the nine diet and lifestyle habits that the people in these communities have in common.
These habits are very similar to those found in a study of Chinese centenarians by Liu Zhengcai. In The Mystery of Longevity, Liu, sums up the experiences of urban centenarians detailing their daily habits, exercise, diet, mental attitude.
