A New Era for Traditional Tui Na

Traditional Tui Na 2026 & Beyond

In recent years the demand for instruction in Traditional Tui Na has outstripped my ability to meet the need. Every time Internal Arts International offers a class series in Tui Na, registration fills within days, leaving many people waiting over a year for the next series to start. Each year we end up with a wait list of over 40 people who all want to learn Tui Na and Zheng Gu methods in their traditional format – as a single, integrated system.

Therefore, we are thrilled to announce that Traditional Tui Na as taught by Internal Arts International is entering an exciting new era. I will be turning over the teaching of Traditional Tui Na to a team of five outstanding instructors: Adam Wasserman, Marcus DeGrazia, Jen Resnick, Finbar McGrath and Glenn Genovas, thereby infusing the Traditional Tui Na Program with new energy, an expanded vision, and more opportunities for students to learn. It’s a pleasure to pass the torch to these experienced practitioners who bring their passion and profound clinical mastery into the classroom.

L-R: Adam Wasserman, Marcus DeGrazia, Jen Resnick, Glenn Genovas, Finbar McGrath

Adam, Marcus, Jen, Glenn and Finbar have all employed Traditional Tui Na clinically for many years, assisted in teaching and several of them worked directly with me at the Fifth Street Clinic in New York City. They are all hands-on practitioners who combine years of practical experience with a profound understanding of how and why Tui Na is such an effective healing method.

I will continue to oversee the program and interface with our new instructors, while having the freedom to focus on organizing advanced level Tui Na seminars and teaching Qi Gong and Internal Martial Arts.

As always, our goal is to provide participants with immediate practical skills that they can use the next day in the clinic. Passing on this profound art is particularly important today, as Chinese medicine schools and the modern education system have largely failed to transmit or even correctly understand the value of Traditional Tui Na. Hence we are doing all we can to keep this profound art alive and available to future practitioners.

Meet the Instructors

Jen Resnick

Jen Resnick is a licensed acupuncturist and passionate educator who has spent more than two decades bringing Chinese medical bodywork to students and practitioners across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Whether she’s teaching a weekend seminar or guiding students through complex clinical technique, Jen has a gift for making sophisticated material accessible, practical, and immediately usable.

Jen was a lead instructor of Zheng Gu Tui Na, training directly in the method under Tom Bisio and Frank Butler and carrying that lineage into her teaching with depth, precision, and genuine enthusiasm. She is currently faculty and Academic Dean at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine and faculty at Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine where she teaches Tui Na and Traumatology. She has also taught at Tri-State College of Acupuncture and Pacific College of Health Sciences in New York City. She is the co-founder of PracticeARTS Seminars which offers personal cultivation classes in Tai Ji Quan and Qi Gong as well as CE courses for acupuncturists. She has trained extensively in the martial arts, first in Shaolin Kung Fu, Kali and Kajukenbo, and now in Tai Ji Quan, Ba Gua and Xing Yi. She has served as first aid coordinator for the National Women’s Martial Arts Federation Association and Pacific Association of Women’s Martial Artists and has taught seminars on Martial Arts Medicine & Traumatology nationally.

Jen currently practices in New York and Seattle.

What practitioners consistently say about Jen’s teaching is that she gives students not just a set of techniques but a way of thinking clinically that stays with them long after the course ends. Her approach integrates Tui Na with acupuncture theory, channel palpation, external herbal application, and rehabilitative Qi Gong. Learn more about Jen on her website: www.practiceartshealing.com

Marcus DeGrazia

Marcus DeGrazia is a New York State licensed acupuncturist who has studied Qi Gong, Ba Gua Zhang and Zheng Gu Tui Na intensively since 2006. He is also a classically trained musician with degrees from the University of Michigan. In 1995, shortly after completing his studies in Ann Arbor, Marcus relocated to New York City and formed a collective of musicians that toured the United States, Canada, and Europe extensively. Through years of improvising with musicians and modern dancers, Marcus developed a love for movement, bodywork and martial arts.

In 2006, Marcus began an apprenticeship with Tom Bisio, delving deeply into the Internal Arts, Tui Na, and Chinese Medicine.  In 2009, after completing a degree at Tri-State College of Acupuncture, Marcus joined Tom’s clinic as a practitioner specializing in trauma, Chinese sports medicine, and orthopedic conditions.  Marcus was fortunate to work closely with Mr. Bisio for almost 7 years.

In 2014, Marcus relocated to the Hudson Valley where he practices Chinese medicine and teaches Internal Arts. Marcus is certified by Internal Arts International (formerly New York Internal Arts) as an instructor for Traditional Tui Na and a Senior Instructor of Ba Gua Zhang. Glenn Genovas

Glenn Genovas graduated with a B.S. Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. In his course of study, Glenn built a strong base of experience working with high school and collegiate sport teams in baseball, volleyball, lacrosse, football, soccer, and cross country.

For nearly a decade, Glenn worked in established physical therapy facilities in NYC and as an athletic trainer for BMCC, a CUNY college in Manhattan. Seeing the importance of manual therapy in the recovery of his patients, and the limitations of care that could be provided in rehabilitative settings, Glenn sought to develop his work so that he could provide more of the hands-on care that he saw as essential to healing. He completed the massage therapy program at The Swedish Institute and opened a private practice in NYC.

Understanding the dynamic nature of the human body through treating injuries and his 40+ years practice in martial arts, Glenn continues to deepen his knowledge and skill with further study of other systems of bodywork and healing.

Glenn is an Advanced Practitioner in John F. Barnes Myofascial Release, and a Certified CORE Institute Massage Therapist. He studied with Tom Bisio for over 20 years, completing both the Zheng Gu Tui Na and Traditional Tui Na program multiple times.

Combining his background in sports medicine with eastern and western bodywork techniques, Glenn’s work focuses on people who have muscular and fascial restrictions due to trauma, repetitive stress, and poor posture. His work is effective for those whose bodies feel tight and limited in function and/or motion. Post-surgery clients who require “hands-on” treatments throughout their rehabilitation, and people who have gone through the typical physical therapy routine with little to no results can improve their recovery outcomes with Glenn’s unique integrated bodywork approach. Finbar McGrath

Finbar McGrath is a nationally Board-Certified Diplomat in Chinese Medicine and a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of New York. He holds a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences (2009), where he trained under the renowned Dr. Jeffrey C. Yuen.

Finbar’s clinical career reflects both depth and breadth of experience. He served as a clinical assistant to Tom Bisio at Fifth Street Acupuncture Clinic from 2008–2014, and from 2009–2020 served as Clinical Director at Essential Wellness Acupuncture, a busy Manhattan practice specializing in the treatment of pain, trauma, and chronic illness. There, he led a team of practitioners utilizing Tui Na, Zheng Gu, and acupuncture as the primary modalities of care. He now maintains a private practice in Beacon, NY.

Alongside his clinical work, Finbar is a dedicated educator. He was an Adjunct Faculty at Pacific College of Health Sciences (2015–2017) teaching in both the Massage and Classical Acupuncture tracts, served as an Instructor for Zheng Gu Tui Na, and continues to offer mentorships in the clinical application of the Secondary Vessels of Chinese Medicine. Drawing on his background as a bodyworker, martial artist, and clinician, he guides students toward a deeper, more practical understanding of Chinese Medicine — and its power to rectify imbalances in the Qi dynamic.
