Dragon, Tiger, Monkey & Hawk – Ba Gua Body Imagery Part 3

In the practice and application of Ba Gua Zhang, it is said one should “walk like a dragon, crouch like a tiger, move like a monkey and overturn the body like a hawk.” This imagery, if properly understood, gives one insight into correct internal body movement and proper martial application. In Part Three of this article, the imagery of the Sparrow Hawk is explained in relationship to Ba Gua and Xing Yi.
