Daoist Meditation Lesson Three Practice: Quieting the Mind & Gathering the Qi

Lesson Three of Nine Lessons on Daoist Meditation Practice: Quieting the Mind and Gathering the Qi.

Lesson 3: Practice  – Counting the Breaths
Counting the breaths is one method of quieting and focusing the thoughts that come and go through our consciousness. In this lesson we will count each breath. The first cycle of inhalation and exhalation is counted as “one” and so on up until “nine”. When we reach nine breaths we begin again, starting at “one.” If we lose count of the breaths before reaching nine, we start again at “one.
