Here are two more Ba Gua Zhang Ball Exercises that one can do at home using weighted balls to develop internal body connection. These are traditional exercises common to many styles of Ba Gua Zhang. If you don’t have a weighted ball, you can begin with a rock of the appropriate weight.
Start light and work up to heavier weights. The rule is, if you are using muscular strength to hold the ball up, it’s too heavy.
Therefore, start with an appropriate weight that you can hold up by using the internal structure of the body rather than muscular tension. And realize there is an upper limit for your body shape, size and constitution. More weight is not necessarily better. Start light! Remember you can increase the time held, rather than the weight.
