Gong Fu Sports Medicine: Treating the Low Back, Hip & Lower Limb with Tom Bisio
Learn Tom’s unique approach to highly effective treatment with multi-modalities including acupuncture, tui na, cupping, guasha and external application of herbs.
This class focuses on treating Sports Injuries and Orthopedic Conditions of the Low Back, Hip & Lower Limb with a multi-modality approach. Students will learn when to use Tui Na, acupuncture protocols, point prescriptions, and needling techniques for effective treatment protocols. In addition, students will learn to appropriately use herbs externally (gaos, liniments etc) as well as internal herb formulas that treat the Low Back, Hip & Lower Limb. Specific rehabilitative Qi Gong exercises conditions of the Low Back, Hip & Lower Limb will be demonstrated and practiced, so that students are able to teach the exercises to patients.
Clinically effective Tui Na (medical massage) protocols, acupuncture protocols, point prescriptions, and needling techniques will be demonstrated and practiced under Tom’s supervision. Tom’s unique approach is based on very effective traditional Chinese sports medicine methods used for centuries. These traditional methods pre-date the modern Sports Medicine techniques of dry needling and trigger point-motor point methods.
This 2-day weekend intensive combines lecture, demonstration and practice. Clinical efficacy and combining different modalities to effect maximum results will be emphasized throughout the weekend. Our goal is for you to walk into your clinic Monday morning and effectively use these techniques and principles.
