I am excited to announce that Paul Ryan will be teaching Ba Gua Abdominal Acupuncture, a unique method of acupuncture that utilizes the abdomen to regulate the function of the zangfu organs and meridians. Abdominal acupuncture was created by Dr. Bo Zhiyun. It uses Yi Jing theory to diagnose and treat disease. This type of acupuncture can treat the whole body, including internal, difficult and complicated disorders, and also chronic degenerative disorders.
In traditional Chinese medicine, the navel and the abdomen are considered to be the center of an advanced regulating system or network that effects the whole body. This network is formed during the embryological period. This regulating system provides the foundation for abdominal acupuncture and the application of the eight trigrams (the Ba Gua) and their relationship to the Qi Dynamic and the functions of the internal organs.
I have been interested in studying this method for a while and an opportunity has finally presented itself. I recently had dinner with Paul Ryan. I was impressed by both his knowledge and his focus on practical application of the abdominal acupuncture system.
Paul Ryan spent the last 18 years in China studying Chinese language and traditional medicine. He apprenticed directly with Doctor Bo and currently is on the staff of Lutheran Medical Center.
