Early Daoist Meditation and the Jade Pendant Inscription

The Jade pendant inscription gives insight into a Daoist meditation practice form the Warring States Period (475–221 BCE). It has many parallels with one of the meditation practices taught in Ba gua and Xing Yi in which one focuses on the “True Breath” (the Breath within the Breath). Our students have found this inscription helpful in practicing True Breath meditation.
